Darren Stephen Carter died on June 22, 2022 at his home in Denver, CO at age 56 of a blood clot. Darren will be very much missed by all that knew him. He was charming and had a “magic” effect that people loved about him. He was very loyal and generous to people and loved helping and giving to those that had less than he did.
Darren was born on September 15, 1965 in Denver, CO as a 4th generation native to Colorado. He spent most of his younger years growing up in Alamosa and graduated from Alamosa High School where he was a star basketball player. Darren graduated from Denver University then moved to Durango Co to work with his father, Raymond Carter, at Economy Nissan. Over the years he worked his way up to Vice President of Economy Nissan. He left Durango to start his own dealership in Arizona until he finally retired from car business and returned to Denver.
He was passionate about studying WWII history and had an enormous talent building WWII dioramas. He also was an avid Broncos fan. And he loved his Thursday Night pool league playing with his second family from the Candlelight Tavern.
Darren is survived by his two sisters, Fallon Anne Carter of Denver, and Kimberly Carter of Los Angeles; his daughter Elizabeth; and his biological father Van Dorn. He is predeceased by his father, Raymond Carter; his mother, Sharon O’Meara Carter; his grandfather, Alfred Mark O’Meara Jr. and his grandmother, Betty V. O’Meara.
In memory of Darren, Fallon Carter will be hosting an open house. This will be at Darren’s home on Saturday, August 13th. It will be from 2 to 6 PM and held at 4885 E. Arizona Ave in Denver. She asks that you bring some of your favorite family memories of Darren. Provided at the home will be some note cards for those who would like to write out any stories.
