My Husband Gary Frost was Great Friends with Mike! Mike was in Wichita Fls, Tx. With Gary. He used to work for Raytheon. Mike had a cat that Loved water! Gary & I used to crack Up! Mike had his Jeep stolen a couple of times in Aurora! Mike found his own car turned up not the Cops! I was totally sadden to read about Michael getting sick! I bet him & Gary are having a Great Time in Heaven!

I remember the time he ran from his house 3.5 miles to a bar we were drinking at after drill.
When he vacuumed the whole flight line tent in Djibouti…and Gerdman took the vacuum cleaner away from him and tossed it in the trash.
His do what I say, not what I do with just about everything was so Mike i.e. the wrench/srewbit/capt. hook tool. But it was entertaining from start to finish. He always tried to figure out a better way…even if it took 3 days to get there.
He gave my son’s pictures of F-16’s. 🖤
I watched almost every baseball game with him…always wondered why I was sooooo drunk lol.

I served with Mike in the COANG from 1998 - 2012. He was a teacher, mentor, a skilled technican, a good co-worker and a friend. Around the maintenance complex, he earned the nickname "MikeGyver" because improvising little devices to make a task easier or more efficient was his favorite thing to do. He entertained anyone willing to listen (and some who weren't) with many stories of his adventures as a young Airman in Korea and the Philippines. Anyone in our unit who deployed to Korea with him many years later could see that he was living his best life re-experiencing the memories of his earlier time there.
One of my favorite memories of Mike is of a camping trip a few of us took, to do some off-roading and cave exploring. One cave we were in had a very tight passageway with only enough room for one to slide along like a snake for about 20 feet or so, but to me it seemed like 20 miles. I was making very slow progress due to my wide shoulders (and large waist). Mike was directly behind me and I was becoming very uncomfortable thinking about how it might be a very long time before anyone found us if I did not get through, since I was blocking the only way out for the rest of our group, which had gone through before me. Sensing my anxiety, Mike talked me off the ledge and helped me focus on getting through the passage. Together we devised a method in which he would push against the bottoms of my boots while I shimmied forward, and then grab my boots to pull himself forward as well. Worked great, and we all survived the ordeal.
I will always remember Mike as a skilled technician and an innovator, but most fondly as a good friend.
Mike was my shop supervisor when I enlisted in the COANG in 2012. He taught me to have enthusiasm for and pride in my work, no matter how seemingly miniscule or unimportant the detail. He loved to share his knowledge, mentor, and laugh with people. I am sincerely sorry for the loss to his friends, family, and to our country. He will be remembered in the COANG.
