Samuel David Sholes' Obituary
Samuel David Sholes was born on March 23, 1959, to Charles and Marilyn (Corky) Sholes in Burlington, Colorado. He was the youngest of the 5 children, (Charles (Steve), Marilyn, Stan, Stu, & Sam)
In the late 70’s Sam married and had a daughter, Sarah. In March of 1986 he married his current wife, Cindy (Stoker) and together had a son-Seth. Sam welcomed Cindy’s daughter, Misty, and later granddaughter turned daughter, Vyktoreya.
Sam followed in the footsteps of his father and was a lifelong carpenter. It’s what he knew and what he enjoyed. Sam is best known for his work for the City of Burlington where he was employed in the mid to late 90’s until he was layed off around 2016. There are not many projects that were done that he didn’t have his hands in. One of the better knowns is the different little town themed buildings you can see at Old Town. The well houses, pavilions and amphitheater at the park, the water park were some of the things he’d point out to you. As well as having a big hand in building the substation and maintaining the pool. (Which they would still ask him about.) If you needed it built, Sam could build it, and rest assured it would be done right!!! He was VERY PARTICULAR and PROUD about his work!
Sam was a BIG Bronco’s fan, and he never let his son forget that he was born the “year of the drive” Seth couldn’t even set up by himself but sat in Sam’s lap and watched the game with him. (until mom had to save the baby!!!)
Proceeding him in death are his parents, Charles & Marilyn, God parents, Connie & Anita Sellman, brothers, Stan and Stu.
Left to celebrate his life are his wife Cindy, daughter Misty, son Seth and granddaughter/daughter Vyktoreya, granddaughters Korey, Krysteen, Ashttyn, and JaRae, 5-great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter, brother Steve, and sister Marilyn, nephews & etc....
As per Sam’s request, there will be no services. A celebration of life, time to be determined, will be held at their home.
If you would like to help Cindy with any outstanding expense's, you can send it to her at 315 Vine St. Burlington Colorado 80807, drop it off at F & M Bank or Cash App her at $CindySholes
