William Kyle Woods' Obituary
William K. Woods passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 6:00 pm at University Hospital, Aurora, CO
He was born November 6, 1936 in Paris Texas to Herbert and Alberta Vaughns Woods. He attended Carver High School in Pampa, Texas.
He served in the United State Navy for 2 and 1/2 years as a 1st Class Seaman.
William moved to Denver, Colorado in 1961 with his family where he was employed with the Denver Inter Spring Company for many years. William later worked for Gates Rubber CO and other various jobs such as caterer, security and bartender. He also volunteered as an auxiliary fireman for the City and County of Denver.
In 1964 William joined Bethel Church of God in Christ. He soon became a deacon and not long after he was called to be a minister. He was selected to work in the Northeastern District as a District Sunday School Superintendent under the District Superintendent F.E. Johnson for several years.
He loved music, he was an excellent drummer, in his early years he played for the church and different bands around the Denver metro area. William loved jazz and one of his favorites was El Chipotle TePec.
Drawing, painting and wood carving were his hobbies. Sketching cartoons were his favorite.
During the pandemic William rededicated his life to God under the care of Pastor William Kourtney Woods, his son.
William is survived by his daughter, Kimetha L. Carter and a son Wm. Kourtney Woods (Janee). Four grandchildren; Jennifer Collins (William), William Kobe Woods, Kelsey D. Woods and Kennedy Lane. Four Great-Grandchildren; Zyon, Alexander, Rachelle and Sydney Collins as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
