Over the 20 years we were together, there were plenty of memories, but here's one of the nice ones that stands out...
Brooke's sister was in town, they went to a nearby mall, and happened past a pet store. They had to go inside, after a kitten atop a pile of other kittens caught Brooke's eye. She fell in love instantly and brought him home.
I was working overnights, and was sleeping at the time... She entered my room, woke me very gently, and placed a tiny kitten in my hand. One look at that fluffy embodiment of cuteness, and the adoration on her face, and I knew he was there to stay.
Sure enough, Butters was with us for 15 years, and gave us plenty of fond memories after that... But they all started with that day I got to see Brooke smiling unabashed, beaming with love/adoration/excitement for the furry little wonder she had found.
