With profound sadness, we announce the untimely passing of Brooke Holec-Prettyman, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and so much more. Brooke left us too soon and will be incredibly missed by those who loved her.
Brooke was a gentle, kind-hearted soul whose greatest joy came from helping others. Whether through small, quiet acts of care, simply being there when someone needed her, or the fierce way she defended the people she cared for, she made an impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her compassion and warmth were gifts she freely shared with the world.
She deeply loved her family and found her greatest happiness with her husband of 20 years, Jon and her son, Bryce, who were the center of her life. We believe her love will continue to guide and surround them always.
She also had a special bond with her cherished cat, Butters whose companionship brought her comfort and happiness. The simple joys of home and love were what she treasured most.
Though her time with us was far too short, her spirit lives on in her countless acts of kindness and in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be remembered for her generosity, her caring nature, and the quiet strength she carried in everything she did. As a final act of compassion, Brooke’s legacy of kindness lives on through organ donation, helping to save and transform lives.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Brooke is survived by her husband, Jon Prettyman; son, Bryce; father Doug; siblings Danielle, Taylor, and Candis, and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends. Brooke is now reunited in peace with her mother, Julie Ohs, who passed before her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 10-11am prior to a Celebration of Life at 11am at Eagle Brook Church, 11125 Eastview Rd., Woodbury, MN 55129.
